Stillwater children’s home thanks Carr for printed materials

The work that Stillwater Residential Treatment Facility does for kids is critical. Kids with emotional or mental health difficulties need support, and Stillwater provides it.

So we were happy to help with materials for their Springtime in Milan event, which will help build the kids a playground. Good materials help build successful events.
Here’s what they had to say:

“The Board of Directors, staff and residents at Stillwater RTF are grateful to Carr Printing for your sponsorship toward the printing of invitations for our Springtime in Milan event, April 9, at Terra Cotta.

We appreciate your continued support of the work we do and the help we are proud to provide to the children and families we are privileged to serve.

“Your contribution of printing services ... will help us to make our fundraising efforts a success.

“It’s people like you who help us find direction and realize dreams. Thank you again!”

It gives us a warm feeling to hear words like that.

GEORGETOWN ALUMNI MATERIALS

Georgetown comes to Carr to help reach $500 million goal

Georgetown University has set for itself quite a goal: Raise $500 million by 2014 for its scholarship fund. And raise it with minimum contributions of $25,000.

That sort of fundraising means the Georgetown Fund is going to skip printing hundreds of thousands of cheap tri-folds stuffed in little kiosks around campus. These are going to some of the most powerful and most affluent people in the world: former President Bill Clinton, King Abdullah II of Jordan, California First Lady Maria Shriver, basketball greats Alonzo Mourning, Patrick Ewing (and his son).

That kind of audience requires the best quality. So Georgetown came to Carr.

We’ve done similar work for Binghamton University and Cornell University – both of which also have NCAA tournament-level basketball programs. Maybe we can do some work for Syracuse University and start our own little fundraising league.

BINGHAMTON UNIVERSITY COMMENCEMENT PIECE

Binghamton University fall commencement programs don’t look last-minute

Commencement packages are always a challenge because so many elements may change: content, the number to be printed, the hundreds of names of graduates and other details.

This event featured actor Billy Baldwin, himself a BU alumnus.

We’re pleased with the program we did for Binghamton University’s fall commencement: 24 pages, blind embossed and pearl foil stamped. We did it on a tight turnaround, too.

Colleges, when it comes to commencement materials, need flexibility and reliability from their printers. That’s why they come to Carr.

CORNELL SPORTS PROGRAMS

Fast turnaround, high score: It’s either Cornell basketball, or Carr’s programs

Sports serve several functions at any university: Entertainment for the students; character education; campus community creator. And a reason for alumni to support the school.
So we’re happy that Cornell University has hired us to produce their sports programs. Done well, they’re not just a fun little set of notes about the game, they’re a keepsake and a good way for a university to build support among the alums.
We’re familiar with the needs, because we’ve done programs for both the Binghamton Senators AHL hockey team and the Binghamton Mets AA baseball franchise.
And we have some good plans for them. We’re using both our offset and variable digital presses to give Cornell maximum flexibility. Some of the content is static – the roster and many of the advertisements don’t change through the season. But each game features a new team, and new articles and new images – and we’ll have only two days to put each one together. So we’ll need to blend our capabilities to maximize value for the Big Red.
But that’s the kind of work we like. And we’re hoping the basketball team goes to the NCAA tournament again.
